Power Down

As a thriller junkie, I was immediately hooked by Power Down's opening act—a devastating attack on a hydroelectric dam that sets the stage for a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Coes' writing is lean and muscular, with a keen eye for detail that makes the action feel all too real. Hermann's narration is a perfect complement, his gruff, no-nonsense delivery bringing Dewey Andreas to life with a gritty authenticity that's impossible to ignore. The pacing is relentless, with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. My only critique is that some of the supporting characters could have used a bit more development, but that's a small quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. If you're looking for a thriller that's equal parts smart and explosive, Power Down delivers the goods in spades.
