As an editor, I was blown away by the way Peter Hermann brings James Patterson's fast-paced, expertly plotted story to life. His narration is spot-on, conveying the sense of urgency and danger that propels the plot forward. One of the things that really impressed me was the way Hermann handled the dialogue, which can sometimes be a challenge in Patterson's more action-oriented books. He brings a level of nuance and wit to the characters' interactions that really makes them shine. My only quibble is that the audiobook's sound design could have been a bit more polished - there are a few moments where the music and sound effects feel a bit jarring, but overall, this is a minor complaint in an otherwise excellent production. Overall, I'd highly recommend Private to fans of the genre - it's a real page-turner, and Hermann's narration makes it a joy to listen to.
