Romeo and Juliet

I was blown away by how much emotion and tension Powell and Anonymous packed into this punchy audiobook. Anonymous's narration is a joy, capturing the urgency and passion of young love with a youthful energy that's infectious. The sound design is a treat, using music and effects to heighten the drama without feeling gimmicky. However, I did miss some of the original's rich language and subtext, sacrificed in the name of brevity. Still, this is a fantastic introduction to the play or a refreshing reminder of its power. Just don't expect a slow burn - this is a whirlwind romance that's over almost as soon as it begins.
