Star Soldiers

As an editor, I'm always on the lookout for audiobooks that transport me to new worlds and immerse me in the lives of the characters. Star Soldiers is one such book that succeeds admirably in this regard. Eric Michael Summerer's narration is a huge part of its success, bringing a sense of gravitas and intensity to the story that's hard to turn off. His ability to convey the emotional toll of war on the human characters is particularly impressive, and I found myself feeling genuinely invested in their struggles. If I have any criticism, it's that the pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, with some chapters feeling a bit longer or more meandering than others. Additionally, some listeners may find that Summerer's narration style can come across as a bit too matter-of-fact in the quieter moments, which can make it harder to become fully immersed in the story. However, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise excellent audiobook that's sure to appeal to fans of science fiction and military fiction.
