That said, the middle of *Book 2* sags under a subplot involving a prophetic vision that feels like a detour—it’s the only point where the momentum stumbles. Patricia Santomasso’s narration is the secret weapon here. She gives Raven a voice that’s equal parts exhausted and ferocious, which sells the character’s growth from reluctant participant to battle-hardened leader. The real standout? Her demon voices—a mix of gravel and honey that makes even the villains weirdly charismatic. My only critique is that the sound mixing occasionally drowns out whispered lines during action scenes (a minor but noticeable issue in *Book 3*’s climactic fight).
