Ravine’s prose is sharp, with vivid details that make the resort’s glittering facade feel like a prison. However, the pacing falters in the middle act, where the plot’s secondary threads—particularly the omega’s backstory—drag slightly, undermining the urgency of the main conflict. Also, some dialogue feels overly contrived, especially during the early scenes of tension, which could have been more organic. That said, the audiobook’s production is top-notch, with ambient sounds and subtle pauses that amplify the erotic tension. The climax is a whirlwind of emotion, and the narration’s intensity matches the chaos.
