As a listener who loves a good psychological thriller, I found 'The First Shot' to be an incredibly satisfying listen. Suzanne Elise Freeman's narration is nothing short of exceptional. She captures Amber's complexity, making her both terrifying and oddly sympathetic. Constantine's writing is tight and engaging, with a pacing that builds tension masterfully. The story is filled with unexpected twists and turns, keeping me guessing until the very end. However, I did find some of the secondary characters a bit one-dimensional, which sometimes detracted from the overall impact.
