I’ll admit upfront: I was skeptical of a romance that hinges on a protagonist who literally *plays games* to avoid his feelings. But Warren’s script and the narrators’ performances turned that skepticism into outright investment. Brehon’s Chance isn’t just a charming, flawed guy—he’s exhausting in the best way, a walking contradiction of ambition and avoidance who makes you root for him even when he’s sabotaging himself. Nixon’s secondary characters steal scenes, especially the snarky, no-nonsense best friend whose delivery had me laughing out loud during my commute. The production is crisp, with no audible distractions, though I wished the emotional gut-punches landed a split-second slower—sometimes the pacing rushes the quieter, more introspective moments that deserve lingering on. That said, the payoff in the final act is worth every minute, a gutting reminder that some games aren’t worth playing, even when the rules are all you’ve ever known.
