As a listener, I was immediately drawn into the world of 'The Obsidian Oracle'. Ray Porter's narration is nothing short of exceptional, his deep, resonant voice lending a sense of gravitas to the story that perfectly complements the high-stakes political games being played out. The pacing is spot-on, balancing moments of intense action with slower, more introspective scenes that allow the characters to develop and the plot to breathe. My only critique would be that, at times, the sheer number of characters and their political alliances can become a bit confusing, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. Denning's world-building is nothing short of masterful, and Porter's narration brings it all to life in a way that's truly immersive.
