AudioBook Atlas

I've always been drawn to fantasy that challenges my expectations, and The West Passage delivers in spades. Steve West's narration is superb, bringing a sense of gravity to the narrative that's both captivating and unsettling. One of the things that struck me about this story is its use of atmosphere to drive the plot forward – the decaying palace-city is a character in its own right, and West's narration does an excellent job of conveying its eerie presence. My only criticism is that some of the supporting characters feel a bit underdeveloped, and I found myself wanting more backstory on the protagonist. Still, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise engrossing listen. Overall, I'd highly recommend The West Passage to fans of dark, atmospheric fantasy.
