I went into *Tiger Mates* expecting the usual shifter tropes—grumpy heroes, fated mates, lots of brooding—but Felicity Heaton delivered so much more. The stories are layered with genuine emotional stakes; these aren’t just mindless flings. The heroines are stubborn, capable, and often the ones calling the shots, which makes their dynamic with the alpha males far more interesting than the typical power imbalance. My favorite installment was the second one, where the heroine’s stubbornness and the hero’s relentless pursuit created this push-pull tension that had me gripping my phone (and occasionally groaning).
