Finlay Robertson delivers an outstanding performance that perfectly complements Andrew Cartmel’s writing style. His ability to convey the quirkiness and wit of each character is exceptional, making Nevada, Tinkler, and Stinky Stanmer feel like old friends by the end. The pacing is just right—neither too slow nor too rushed—which allows for a smooth flow of events without losing momentum. However, some quieter moments could benefit from slightly more intimate narration to fully capture the mood. Despite this minor quibble, ‘Underscore’ is a must-listen for fans of British cozy crime and those who appreciate the perfect mix of suspense and humor.
