I went in expecting another supernatural procedural, but Witch With A Problem surprised me with its sharp voice and chaotic energy. Megan Trout is the secret weapon here—she doesn’t just narrate; she embodies Cait’s defensive sarcasm and Aza’s unnerving calm like a dual performance. The way she shifts tone between them, especially during their bickering exchanges, adds layers you wouldn’t get from reading. The world-building is dense but never sluggish, with shifters, witches, and marshals tangled in a power struggle that feels both absurd and urgent. That said, the middle act drags slightly—two interrogation scenes back-to-back slowed the momentum, and I wished for more sensory detail during action sequences. Still, the pacing recovers fast, and the final twist with the wolves’ secret ally is delivered with perfect, chilling timing. The audio production is crisp, no hiccups, and Trout’s control of secondary characters—especially the coven elder with a Boston accent that could cut glass—elevates the whole experience. This isn’t epic fantasy—it’s witchcraft as a contact sport, and I’m already looking for the next in the series.
