About This Audiobook

What happens when a woman desperate for protection stumbles into the arms of the one man who can ruin her? *Xander* by Anne Marsh drops listeners into Miami’s sun-soaked elite with a slow-burn romance that crackles with tension. Lily’s past collides with her present when she seeks shelter from a ruthless enemy—only to find herself staring into the eyes of Xander Volkov, the Russian billionaire she once married in a shotgun ceremony and never saw again. Marsh’s prose is tight, her dialogue razor-sharp, and the stakes are brutally high: trust is a luxury neither can afford, but desire is impossible to resist. The audiobook’s 2h56m runtime feels brisk, not rushed, packed with enough twists to keep your pulse racing without losing the emotional core of the love story.

The narration elevates the experience. Stella Bloom’s portrayal of Lily crackles with vulnerability and grit, her voice shifting seamlessly between fear and fiery determination. Noah Michael Levine’s deep, measured tones as Xander ooze controlled dominance, making every growled command sound like a veiled promise. Together, they sell the push-and-pull of a relationship where love is the one thing neither can afford to name.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I went into *Xander* expecting a pulpy billionaire romance with all the clichés—ice-cold hero, fiery heroine, and enough steam to fog up my headphones. What I got was something sharper: a story that walks the line between fantasy and real-world stakes. Xander Volkov isn’t just rich and brooding; he’s ruthless in a way that feels plausible, not cartoonish. The moment Lily tracks him down and drops the seismic fact that she’s carrying his child (even though they were married for five minutes years ago, in a ceremony neither of them remembers), my jaw hit the floor. Marsh doesn’t let the drama overwhelm the emotion—Lily’s desperation to protect her son from a very real threat grounds the story, while Xander’s gradual thaw is handled with a deft touch that avoids the usual alpha-male redemption arc pitfalls. The narration is where this audiobook truly shines. Bloom nails Lily’s evolution from frightened prey to a woman who learns to wield her own power, while Levine’s Xander is all gravel and menace—until those rare moments when his voice softens, and you hear the man beneath the monster. My only quibble? The production occasionally swallows Bloom’s quieter lines when she’s conveying internal panic, and Levine’s narration sometimes veers into monotone during the more technical Russian-to-English translations. But these are minor flaws in an otherwise polished listen. By the final chapter, I was emotionally drained in the best way—rooting for a couple who maybe shouldn’t be together, but can’t seem to stay apart.
