When the wolf brags about his, uh, *appetites*, Levine makes it sound like a promise, not a threat. That said, the audiobook isn’t flawless. The female lead’s voice occasionally veers into breathy territory that feels more ‘anime heroine’ than ‘sharp-witted foil,’ and the secondary characters sometimes blur together in tone. But the chemistry between the leads? Electric. Marsh’s dialogue is snappy, and Levine sells every line, especially the scenes where the wolf’s arrogance clashes with the heroine’s stubbornness. The plot moves at a clip, though the middle act sags slightly with a subplot that feels like filler (a werewolf council drama that doesn’t add much tension). But the core romance—equal parts filthy and funny—never loses steam. The sex scenes are steamy but laced with humor, and Levine’s timing turns even the dirtiest lines into punchlines. My biggest critique? The ending wraps up *too* neatly, given how delightfully messy the rest of the book is.
