About This Audiobook

Imagine sipping Pimm's on a sunny afternoon, when suddenly the host keels over, poisoned. That's just the start of 'A Royal Murder', a delightfully British mystery that's more 'Downton Abbey' than 'Sherlock'. Lady Eleanor Swift, our intrepid amateur sleuth, is as charming as she is clever, navigating the treacherous waters of high society with wit and wisdom. Verity Bright's writing is as sparkling as the champagne, and Karen Cass's narration is the perfect complement, bringing the characters to life with her crisp, upper-crust accent. This isn't your typical whodunit; it's a who-was-it, with a delightful cast of suspects and a plot that twists like a corkscrew.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I've always had a soft spot for cozy mysteries, and 'A Royal Murder' is a real gem. Karen Cass's narration is spot-on, capturing the essence of each character with ease. Her Lady Eleanor is the perfect blend of elegance and determination, making me wish she was my own auntie. The pacing is excellent, keeping the tension high even when the action slows down. I did find some of the red herrings a bit too obvious, but that's a small quibble in an otherwise engaging tale. The production is simple yet effective, with just the right amount of sound effects to enhance the story without being intrusive. If you're looking for a mystery that's more 'Murder on the Orient Express' than 'True Detective', this is the audiobook for you.
