I devoured Allegiance in a single, frenetic sitting - a testament to the engaging narrative and Patton's compelling narration. The story is unafraid to push boundaries, exploring the darker aspects of human nature with unflinching candor. If I have a quibble, it's that some of the supporting characters feel a tad underdeveloped, and a few of the plot twists feel slightly predictable.
