I found myself completely absorbed in the world of 'Archon' from the opening chapter. Nick Podehl's narration is a true standout, bringing a sense of authenticity to Taemon's story that's hard to find in even the most well-crafted fiction. His ability to convey the protagonist's emotional vulnerability without becoming overly sentimental is a testament to his skill as a narrator. Where the story truly shines, however, is in its exploration of the complexities of community and the dangers of unchecked power. Krumwiede's writing is both poetic and unflinching, making for a truly unforgettable listen. My only minor quibble is that the pacing occasionally feels a bit rushed, particularly in the latter half of the audiobook. Nevertheless, this is a minor complaint in an otherwise exceptional listen.
