Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I've been a fan of the Malazan series for years, and Deadhouse Gates is a shining example of why. Erikson's storytelling is like a grand, multi-layered tapestry that you can't help but get lost in. The sheer number of characters and plotlines can be overwhelming at times, but it's also what makes this series so unique and compelling. Lister's narration is a significant part of what makes this audiobook work. He handles the vast array of accents and character voices with ease, making it easy to follow the complex narrative. The production quality is excellent, with no distracting background noise or audio issues. My only critique is that the pacing can feel slow at times, especially in the first half of the book, but it's a small price to pay for the epic tale that unfolds. If you're a fan of intricate, character-driven fantasy, this is a must-listen.
