The audiobook’s standout is Volker Brandt’s narration; his Father Brown is a delightfully understated presence, his voice dripping with the kind of quiet amusement that makes you feel like you’re sharing a secret with the man himself. The supporting cast, led by Jo Kern and Ole Pfennig, brings the secondary characters to life with such vividness that the stagey setting of the theater feels immersive.
