El Hombre Iluminado [The Sunlit Man]

I was blown away by 'El Hombre Iluminado'. Sanderson has crafted a unique fantasy world, one that feels both fresh and familiar, with a rich history and intriguing magic system. The story is lean and mean, with no fat on its bones, driving forward with a relentless pace that had me hitting 'play' again and again. Mediavilla's narration is a perfect match for this story, his voice capturing the weariness and determination of the 'Nómada' with equal measure. He also does an excellent job with the varied cast of characters, giving each a distinct voice and personality. My only critique is that some of the world-building could have been more organically integrated into the narrative, rather than occasionally feeling like info-dumps. But this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook experience. If you're looking for an epic fantasy that's a bit different, a bit grittier, and a whole lot of fun, look no further.
