Listening to He Who Whispers is like being invited to an exclusive, old-world dinner party where the host is a master puppeteer, pulling strings to orchestrate an impossible crime. Kris Dyer's narration is the perfect accompaniment, his voice as smooth and rich as a fine wine, drawing you in with its warmth and authority. The story itself is a delightful puzzle, with Carr's signature misdirection and clever plotting. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the story's complexities to unfurl like a secret map. My only critique is that the supporting characters could have been more distinct, as they sometimes blur into the background. But this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook experience.
