Listening to 'Nazi Literature in the Americas' feels like being let in on a secret, like Bolaño is whispering these outrageous tales just to you. Jonathan Davis's narration is spot-on, his deadpan delivery letting the humor and absurdity of these fictional lives speak for themselves. The pacing is perfect, each entry a bite-sized morsel that leaves you eager for the next. The production is minimalist, just Davis's voice and the occasional pause, which works beautifully for this collection of standalone pieces. My only critique is that some of the more serious entries could have used a slightly slower pace to let their gravity sink in. But overall, this is a fantastic listen, a unique blend of literary fiction and dark comedy that's not to be missed.
