I devoured 'Respect Yourself' in a few sittings, drawn in by Cassandra Campbell's rich, expressive narration and Robert Gordon's compelling storytelling. The pacing is well-balanced, with a great mix of detailed historical context and personal anecdotes that bring the Stax story to life. Campbell's performance is superb, capturing the nuances of the characters and the emotional depth of the story. My only quibble is that some of the transitions between sections feel a bit abrupt, and I would have loved a few more sound clips or musical examples to illustrate the music being discussed.
