As a long-time fantasy fan, I was immediately drawn into 'Split the Party'. The concept of former NPCs taking center stage is a fresh twist that Hayes executes brilliantly. Roger Wayne's narration is a real treat, with each character voice distinct and engaging. He also does an excellent job of conveying the story's emotional beats, from laugh-out-loud humor to tense, heart-wrenching moments. The pacing is near-perfect, balancing action, character development, and world-building. My only minor critique is that some of the more descriptive passages could have been tightened up to keep the story moving at its breakneck pace. Overall, though, 'Split the Party' is an absolute gem that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a fun, thrilling fantasy adventure.
