I’ll admit, I went into *The Complete Undead Apocalypse Series* expecting another by-the-numbers zombie fest, but Shupert’s twist—tying the outbreak to a corporate biotech screw-up—gave it a fresh, cynical edge. The first act is particularly strong, with Dr. Saunders’ descent from smug genius to desperate survivor playing like a dark mirror of *Jurassic Park*’s John Hammond. The gore is plentiful, but the real horror comes from the bureaucratic indifference that lets the crisis spiral. That said, the middle sags a bit under repetitive survival sequences, and some side characters feel like zombie-fodder placeholders. Chris Monteiro’s narration is the glue holding it together. His Saunders is a perfect blend of arrogance and creeping panic, and he nails the series’ tone—equal parts *Resident Evil* camp and *The Office*’s cringe comedy. The production is clean, though a few abrupt chapter transitions pulled me out of the moment. Still, for fans of apocalypse stories with bite (and bites), this is a solid pick—just don’t expect deep character arcs. It’s a popcorn listen with teeth, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
