I've been a fan of the David Wolf series since book one, but 'In the Ground' and 'High Road' have truly outdone themselves. Sean Patrick Hopkins' narration is nothing short of exceptional. He captures the essence of each character, from Wolf's steely resolve to the chilling menace of the killers he pursues. The pacing is perfect, building tension like a drumbeat leading up to a crescendo. However, I must admit, the twists in 'High Road' felt a tad predictable at times. But even then, Carson's storytelling is so engaging that you won't mind. This is audiobook entertainment at its finest, a thrilling ride that'll keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. If you're a fan of gritty mysteries with a side of action, this one's a no-brainer.
