Time and Tide

Gildart Jackson's narration is the star of the show here. His weathered voice lends itself perfectly to the gritty, seaside setting, and he imbues each character with a distinct personality, making the ensemble cast easy to follow. The story moves at a steady clip, with just the right amount of red herrings to keep you guessing. I particularly enjoyed the exploration of the older detective's arc, adding depth to the usual procedural fare. However, the pacing stumbles slightly in the middle, and some side plots could have used more resolution. Overall, though, 'Time and Tide' is a compelling listen that will leave you eager for the next installment.
