Shooter

I was immediately drawn into 'Shooter' by the stark, vivid descriptions of the desolate South Dakota landscape, a stark contrast to the chaos of Iraq that Chris has left behind. Mason Lloyd's narration is nothing short of exceptional. He captures the raw, visceral pain of Chris's PTSD, as well as the quiet strength and vulnerability that makes him such a compelling hero. The pacing is excellent, with tension building steadily like a drumbeat leading up to a explosive climax. My only critique is that the secondary characters sometimes feel a bit one-dimensional, but it's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
